| Hey Cliff...How fare are you from the Guadalupe River?? Are you a fly fisher?...these are vitally important questions, my friend...Mark Salois and I were gonna go fishing together but he never invited me to Montana!!
My best trout ever came out of the Guad several years ago on a float trip with Bill Higdon, a great guide and nice guy from Canyon Lake,TX | |

| Dave, Sorry I took so long to get back to you. I have been absorbed with other things for a couple of days.
Now......fishing.........We are near the intersection of Interstate 10 and 479, so that places me are about three miles from the Guadalupe River if I go straight south on Highway 479. At that point I am closer to Mountain Home (about 4 miles) than Ingram. As you know the headwaters of the Guadalupe are a bit further west, out closer to Rock Springs.
I have fly fished and do enjoy it, but it's been a while and I no longer have any gear. I think most of the fly fishing in the Guadalupe if downstream from Kerrville isn't it?

| Cliff...now I'm pretty sure I know your locale...you shouldn't be to far from Boerne...I did some quail hunting down that way last November...for about 11 miles below the dam at Canyon Lake, the water temp and flow is sufficient (thanks to the efforts of the Guadalupe River chapter of Trout Unlimited) to sustain good trout...as far as warm water species I'm not sure where the best spots are..probably just about anywhere...I really love all the Hill country rivers but I believe one of the prettiest is the San Marcos. Maybe some week end I can head down that way and we can meet up and do some fishing and lying...I'm better at one than the other...you can probably figure out which is which dave | |
